How’s the house project going? Well, we originally hoped that we’d be on the finishing touches right about now. Unfortunately, right at the beginning of the project we found we’d need to move the gas meter, and waiting for National Grid to get that taken care of put us eight weeks behind schedule. So we still have a way to go. But we’re not talking about that. We’re going to talk about the progress we HAVE made!

The boys are thrilled with the piles of dirt and debris in the backyard. Meanwhile, the whole inside of our house is covered with about an inch of dirt and debris. (That’s only a mild an exaggeration. I had to buy two new sets of filters for the vacuum because it couldn’t keep up with all the dust.)

Meanwhile, I’m thrilled for the porch! Possibly the best part about the porch being finished first is that we have all of autumn to enjoy it, and then all winter to appreciate the extra indoor space.

We’re still a long ways from being able to move into the rest of our house, but to have a porch that we can use already has been amazing.
