Wrapping Up Whole30

Wrapping Up Whole30

We finished our Whole30 this past Friday – 30 days of ‘clean eating’ with no grains, sweeteners, dairy, legumes, soy, or anything artificial. Truthfully, we’re going all the way until Easter Sunday before we go off plan, but we decided to bring back dairy in after our 30 days. Not just any dairy, though: dairy from our own backyard!  Raw goat milk that is unpasteurized and non-homogenized and unbelievably creamy and delicious. We did Whole30 about 2 years ago, and it was a disaster. This…

Goat Kids & Milk

Goat Kids & Milk

I wasn’t planning on setting up any kind of monitor until perhaps the 24th, but she has been showing distinct signs of being ready to go, which necessitates the monitor to ensure that we’re there to assist. What kind of signs, you ask? Well, her udder is really developing, and her kids have dropped. She’s…

Homeschooled Kids Don’t Get Snow Days

Homeschooled Kids Don’t Get Snow Days

After two days of bad weather, Gabe was asked by his (substitute) gymnastics coach if he was ready to be back in school after the snow days. Gabe just looked at him blankly. After a moment, the coach then asked which school he attended, to which Gabe replied confidently “Oh, we don’t go to school.” ::Facepalm:: That’s where I had to insert myself in the conversation to explain that we homeschool. I was surprised at how enthusiastic his coach, who is a public…
