Merry Christmas 2018
It’s been a busy few weeks leading up to Christmas here! We’ve had most of our shopping done since the beginning of the month, but we’ve had much more to complete. Each boy got a hand knit sweater for Christmas as well as a hand knit hat, and we’ve dabbled in making a few homemade Christmas dishes that we haven’t before, including panettone (a traditional Italian yeast-cake), fruitcake and mincemeat pies. While I’ve always liked panettone, I’ve always had a tenuous relationship with the other two. They’re made of things that I like, so I feel like I should like them, except I just don’t. That said, homemade versions are an entirely different matter, and though we have yet to break into them I can say that initial taste tests of the batter and filling have proven to be delicious.
Anyway, that’s what we’ve been up to these last few weeks. I’ll post again sometime before the New Year, but for the meantime, Merry Christmas to all those who follow us on here. We’re blessed by all the feedback, messages and comments that you have sent us this year; thank you for following and sharing with us!
